…all went really well.

Then, after being in Burbank, I cruised over to North Hollywood to see Matt’s cousin.

Here’s the super quick back story you need to know about how we got here:

Matt’s twin lands a job in Boston post-college for an accounting firm around the corner from Beer Works, where I am working with my boyfriend, circa 2006. His coworker is my boyfriend-at-the-time’s BFF, so I quickly befriend Matt’s twin.
Matty comes to “visit” for a weekend, decides Boston fucking rules, doesn’t leave for a year till he goes home to take the test to become Chicago PD
Matt becoming a cop doesn’t work out ~~unfortunately~~ thank Chirst
Matt comes back to Boston for a hit, makes plans to move to LA
Matt and his twin move to Los Angeles, late 07.
I break up with said ~~douchebag~~ boyfriend
My friend and I, in need of a vacation, head out to LA to visit our friends, the twins, April 2008
Matty and I fall in love, first night, head over fucking heels. How didn’t this happen sooner?
We do just about a year long distance, see each other six times or so, and while I have grand plans to move to Cali, he acknowledges my job (that still employs me to this day) is treating me far too well.
Fazekas moves across country for me, his brother goes home to Chicago (and lands a job at a big deal accounting firm AND wins the lottery, NBD)
Their cousin remains a screen writer in NoHo, chasing that dream.

So his cousin is still in their old apartment.

I got off the exit and immediately got teary.

It all started in North Hollywood.

And we might come full circle soon enough.

Life is so funny sometimes.

…was definitely expecting, like, four.

But I obviously brought along copious pastries from LA Gourmet Bakery by my hotel. And made jokes about being hungover since most of these people were on the same boat cruise event that I was last night.

And I didn’t totally choke and I knew the answers to most of their questions. And I think we’re going to land a campaign in the near future from them because of this.

Phew.

What a fucking load off.

The rest of my meetings are one-on-one or one-on-two and involve meals of food or cocktails. So much more my style.
